ROBERT PLANT: Licensing ZEPPELIN Classic To CADILLAC Was Appropriate
July 12, 2002Former LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant believes that the group did nothing wrong last fall when they licensed the ZEP classic "Rock And Roll" last fall to Cadillac for a TV commercial campaign for a reportedly "ridiculous" amount of money. "I think that's appropriate," Plant told Launch. "I don't know how people view it, but as far as a young generation goes, if you hear that music in as many possible places as you can outside of the normal home for it, then it can only be a good thing."
Plant will release Dreamland, his first solo album in nine years, on Tuesday, July 16th. He appears on VH1's Storytellers program at 11 PM ET/PT on Sunday, July 14th and kicks off a North American tour on July 20th at Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, before hooking up with THE WHO on July 26th at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, for a month of opening dates.
